This is a new project undertaken by Laura Greene and her group of volunteers.  The Cattaraugus county Museum gave us permission to transcribe and digitize their old typewritten indexes of heads of households made for these state census records by their own volunteers many years ago,  Laura and her volunteers are transcribing the indexes to the 1892 NYS Census from the scanned typewritten pages.  You can use these indexes to aid in locating the correct microfilm image.    The towns listed below are what has been completed so far.  If your town isn't listed, it hasn't yet been transcribed.   Laura is still looking for volunteers to help transcribe those scanned typewritten indexes.   If you think you would like to help,  please contact Laura using this button -- >
