Ronald J. Clayson
Hinsdale, NY Ronald J. Clayson of 2192 Maple Hill Rd. passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home Sunday (November 6, 2016), surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 5, 1937 in Hinsdale he was the son of James D. and Leona Dutton Clayson. On August 23, 1956 at their home in Hinsdale he married Lola A. Shaffer who survives.
Ron was a lifelong dairy farmer in Hinsdale until his retirement in 2003. He took pride raising his children on the farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and riding his Gator in the family woods with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Hinsdale Fire Department, a social member of the Hinsdale American Legion Post 1434 and founder of the "Maple Hill Gang", which consisted of family and close friends.
Surviving besides his wife are 4 sons William (Nancy) Clayson, Timothy (Vicki) Clayson, Victor (Lisa) Clayson and Chris (Marsha Holly) Clayson, all of Hinsdale; 3 daughters Sara (Robert) Coen of Hinsdale, Julie (Chuck) MacNeal of Olean and Pennie (Barbara) Clayson of Ceres; 21 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Audrey Karn.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Wednesday from 7-9pm and on Thursday (November 10, 2016) from 11am to 11:30am at which time funeral services will be held. Monroe Bishop will lead the service celebrating Ron's life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hinsdale American Legion, the Hinsdale Fire Department or to a charity of the donor's choice.
