David F. Burlingame
David F. Burlingame, 77, of 4253 Route 16, Hinsdale, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Olean General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born on December 18, 1935, in Olean, NY he was a son of Edwin and Mary Ueblhear Burlingame. On July 9, 1955, in Olean, NY he married the former Ione A. Givan who survives.
Mr. Burlingame was a graduate of Hinsdale Central School Class of 1954. He then went to work for Clark Bros. Of Olean as a pipe fitter retiring in 1997.
He was a member of the Hinsdale American Legion, Olean Elks Club, and the Eldred Veteran's Club.
He was an avid trapper, hunter, and fisherman. He also enjoyed throwing horseshoes and playing cards, especially euchre.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, Rona A. (Kimberly) Tuggle of Allegany, Ronda L. Burlingame of Emporium, Rita K. (Donald) Pleakis of Allegany, and Rena L. Heasley of Olean; nine grandchildren and six great grandchidlren; three brothers, Donald (Peggy) Burlingame of Potsdam, Richard Burlingame of Galena, Illinois, and Darryl (Sharon) Burlingame of Randolph; one sister, Denna Hitchcock of Magnolia, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Douglas David Burlingame; a grandson Shawn Tuggle, and a sister Doris Smith.
At the family's request visitation and services will be private.
Burial will be in Hinsdale Cemetery, Hinsdale, NY.
