George “Jerry” Taber
1937 - 2016
George “Jerry” Taber of Lubbock, formerly of Gowanda, NY, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016, in Lubbock.
Jerry was born in East Smethport, PA, the son of the late Graydon and Ruth (Evans) Taber on Sept. 29, 1937. He retired from the United States Air Force as a 1st Sgt. in the Communications Squadron at Cannon AFB. After his military retirement he was a licensed Civil Service Electrician. He had over 40 years of US Air Force military employment at the time of his final retirement.
His memberships include the Lubbock Elks # 1348; a life member of the James Cruden VFW Post 5007, life member of the American Legion Post 409, a life member of the Slovenian Club, all of Gowanda, NY; and a 32nd Degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; three daughters, Linda Pierce (Weston), Carrie Bunce (Brian) all of Clovis, NM, and Sarah Coker (Greg) of Florida; two step-children, Leslie Chavez (Mike) of El Paso, TX, and Sandra Harris of Georgia. Jerry is also survived by four grandchildren.
