Early Allegany Resident
William Ovenstone, an early pioneer arrived in Allegany from Scotland in 1886 with his wife Margaret Grant and six children. It is believed he worked in a tannery in Allegany. Mr. Ovenstone and his family may of lived on McClure Hollow road.
