OLEAN - Rebecca Cameron, age 73, passed peacefully from this Earth on Monday (Feb. 15, 2016) at Olean General Hospital.She was a lifelong resident of Olean. She was a loving wife of 51 years to Larry Cameron, who predeceased her in 2014. They shared a remarkable love that was evident to all who knew them.
Rebecca was a homemaker, a cat lover, a collector of beautiful things and a gentle soul who carried herself with dignity and grace. Her always-positive attitude was her greatest strength. She loved without reservation and touched everyone she met with genuine kindness and respect.
She was the adored mother of five children. Her daughter, Erica Cameron, predeceased her in 2013. Her surviving children are Duane Cameron of St. Petersburg, Fla., Barbara Cameron Martino of St. Petersburg, Patricia Cameron Perron of Venice, Fla., and Eric Cameron of Olean.
She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends who will dearly miss her.
"May she be reunited in heaven with her loved ones who went before her. With tears of joy we imagine her in the arms of her beloved husband and daughter."
There will be no funeral service at this time. The family will plan a private memorial at a later date.
