Beverly Jean Blakeslee,
loving wife, mother and grandmother

OLEAN - Beverly Jean Blakeslee died Saturday, July 29, 2023, after a long battle with cancer.

Beverly graduated from Olean High School in 1961*. She married Leonard Blakeslee on June 26, 1977.

For 28 years she worked at KMart in retail. She later worked at Dollar General, Portville Central School and Rite Aid, where she finally retired in February, 2023.

She will always be remembered by her special Kmart friends, with whom she formed a lifelong friendship. Karen Delong, Elena Batesky, Wendy Moore, Bev Geyer, Wanda Faulkner and many many more. At Portville Central School she was loved by many teachers and students and greeted every customer at Dollar General and Rite Aid as she was known by many people.

She loved to joke, laugh and talk to everyone she met. She was a strong, hardworking and fun loving person. A very young 80-year-old who had a lot of life to live but cancer got the best of her after a long fight.

Besides her husband, Leonard, she is survived by her daughters, Kelly (Sean) Crandall, Kim (Chris) McCullin and Traci (CJ Hirliman; stepchildren, Valerie Berry and Leonard (Kathy) Blakeslee Jr.; grandchildren, Joshua Foster, Noah Bartholomew, Camron Kostadinov, Nicholas Crandall, Dominick Hirliman and Mason Hirliman; and great-granchildren, Daniel, Elizabeth, Peyton and Elijah. Also her sisters, Donna (Charles) Miller and Paula Vance; as well as many nieces and a nephew

She was predeceased by her parents, Earl Vance and Cecelia Wisel; stepdaughter, Brenda Blakeslee; sister, Connie Pakis; and grandson, Brandon Hill.

As per the family's wishes there will be no visitations or funeral. There will be a celebration of life at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at the St. Stephens Club.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.
