Gary E. Snyder

MIAMI SPRINGS, Fla. - Gary E. Snyder, formerly of Olean, N.Y., passed away March 9, 2018, at his home in Miami Springs.
Born June 12, 1943, in Olean, he was the son of John "Eddie" and Mary Jane Driscoll Snyder.
After graduating from Olean High School in 1961, Gary enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a machinist from 1962 to 1967 aboard the submarine, the USS Atule.
He first worked for the former Montgomery Ward Co. in Olean, prior to moving to Florida in the early 1970's. He was employed by Holsum Bakery for 30 years. After his retirement he worked part-time for Bryson Restaurant.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf.
Surviving are a longtime partner, Barbra Marr of Miami Springs; three daughters, Tina (John) Linares and Deborah (Richard) Childs, both of Houston, Texas, and Briana Snyder of Miami Springs; four grandchildren, J.C. Snyder, John Michael (Cassie) Linares, Katia Childs and McKaylay Childs; one great-grandson, Jordan Snyder; one sister, Elizabeth (William) Karl of Allegany, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Snyder of Bradenton; an uncle, Bob Driscoll of Allegany; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and two very close friends, Dutch and Sam.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Greg Snyder; and a granddaughter, Crystal Linares.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial graveside service to be held at 10 a.m. Monday (June 11, 2018) at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. The Rev. James Vacco, OFM, pastor of St. Bonaventure Church, will officiate.
