Ronald D. Threehouse
1940 -2005

OLEAN — Ronald D. Threehouse of 913 W. Henley St., passed away Friday (May 27, 2005) at home from an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Threehouse was born Oct. 30, 1940, in Olean and was the son of the late John and Frances Perett Threehouse.

Mr. Threehouse started working at bowling alleys at age 10, setting bowling pins, along with mowing lawns, peddling newspapers and in the winter months shoveling snow.

In 1963, he began serving in the U.S. Army National Guard and retired 20 years later.

He was a manager of Coral Lanes in Olean for several years. In 1971, Mr. Threehouse and Edward Nicoletta purchased the Bowlean Lanes on West State Street and upon Mr. Nicoletta's retirement, Mr. Threehouse became the sole owner. Later, he purchased Echo Lanes in Cuba and Bowl O-Var Lanes in Bolivar. At the time of his death, he operated all three bowling alleys.

Mr. Threehouse backed numerous businesses in the area, including some restaurants and real estate holdings.

Mr. Threehouse will be remembered for his charity, for which he received numerous awards. He was very active in several charitable organizations, including hosting Christmas parties for underprivileged children at the Olean Armory and St. Stephen's Club for 20 years. He was also active with the Rehabilitation Center.

He was a member of the Olean Eagles, Moose and Elks clubs.

Surviving Mr. Threehouse are a brother, James (Diane) Threehouse of Olean; four sisters, June Threehouse (Larry) Gallets of Olean, Mary Threehouse (William) Graham of Olean, Sandy Threehouse and Sharon Threehouse (Dr. Edward) Jordan of Portville; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Virginia Threehouse Kenyon and Barbara Ann Case; and a brother, John Threehouse.

Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
