Lynne Bordonaro
Class of '59

Lynne I. MacKnight PRINCETON JUNCTION Lynne I. MacKnight, 78, of Princeton Junction, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2020, in New Jersey. Born in Olean, NY, Lynne graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1963.

Upon graduation, she worked in the advertising business at Ogilvy and Mather in New York City. Here she developed and honed her writing style and prepared herself to be one of the original work at home mothers. In addition to raising three children, she quickly began writing short stories for local newspapers, including The SandPaper on Long Beach Island. Eventually, she had her work published in the New York Times and "Chicken Soup for the Soul: Indulging in Our Sweetest Moments." Additionally, she wrote a book titled "A Celebration of Motherhood with Love and Laughter," which was successfully published in 1998.

Lynne enjoyed taking long bike rides in Long Beach Island (where she was frequently recognized as the writer from The SandPaper), brisk walks around Princeton Junction, and baking prodigious quantities of treats for, first, her kids, and later for her many grandchildren. With her warm smile and silly humor, and her cookies, she was favorite of all her grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents, Benedict J. and Mary (Finn) Bordonaro; she is survived by her husband of 54 years, William J. MacKnight Jr.; her children, Kelly Perron, William B. and David S. MacKnight; as well as her 10 grandchildren. Please visit Lynne's permanent memorial site at www.saulfuneralhomes.com. We encourage all to share memories, words of comfort or leave a message of condolence for the family. Perhaps share a favorite story or special way Lynne touched your heart.
