Gloria Whitter
1939 -2010

Olean-Gloria C. Bright,formerly of 302 Coleman Street, most recently of Mt. Olive, NC, passed away Thursday (February 11, 2010) surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren at her son's home at 321 Coleman Street.

Born November 20, 1939 in Olean, she was the daughter of LeRoy and Malita Clemons Witter. On September 17, 1960 in Olean, she married William "Red" Bright, who predeceased her on November 20, 2007.

Mrs. Bright was a 1958 graduate of Olean High School and was employed at the Service Store Park & Shop on Front Street in Olean for Forty years. She was a member of the Creekside Chapel in Allegany.

Surviving are her three sons John (Julie) Bright, Jack (Karla) Bright and Robert Bright, all of Olean; 2 daughters Mary Ellen (William) Fox of Olean, Lori (Russell) Carlson of Mt. Olive, NC; 9 grandchildren; 2 brothers Charles (Rose) Witter of Portville, Ray (Janet) Witter of Wellsville; 1 sister Naomi "Tootie" MacNeal of Olean; 1 sister-in-law Geraldine Witter of Allegany; the Mahar family who were considered not only her friends but members of her family; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful dog Abby.

Besides her husband she was predeceased by 2 infant grandsons Jack and John Fox; 5 brothers LeRoy Witter Jr., Donald Witter, Daniel Witter, Robert Witter, Richard Witter; and 1 sister Donna Gray.

Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral home 3128 W. State Road Today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday (February 13, 2010) at the Creekside Chapel Five Mile Road, Allegany from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am. Rev. Ken Tesh, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Memorials if desired may be made to the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center 2245 West State Street, Olean.
