Marie L. Jankowski, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Olean– Marie L. Jankowski, formerly of Cranberry Road, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the Olean General Hospital.

Marie was born in Buffalo, on January 2, 1940. She was the daughter of Louis and Carmela Abbott Weber. On September 1, 1963, in Bradford PA, she married Walter J. Jankowski. He predeceased her on January 3, 1997. Marie and her family moved to Olean in 1949. After graduating from Olean High School, she served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Olean General Hospital for 26 years.

As an active member of the community, Marie was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, a former member of Ladies Auxiliary of the St. Stephens Club, and a member of the Allegany Senior League. She had numerous hobbies including listening to gospel and country music. She enjoyed many crafts including pottery, jewelry, and crocheting. Marie also enjoyed traveling to numerous cities across the country to visit family and friends prior to her retirement.

Surviving is: one daughter, Kristine Jankowski Salyan (Daniel), two sons: Thomas Jankowski (Kerry) and Ronald Jankowski (Cindy); grandchildren Ronnie Jankowski, Austen Jankowski, Brody Thompson (Chelsea), Jacob Thompson, Alexandra Jankowski, Connon Salyan, and Ryan Salyan; and great-grandchild, Olive Jankowski; and nephew Richard Hull and niece Laurie Hull Weiner (John).

Marie was predeceased by her husband Walter, her parents Louis and Carmella, her sister Shirley Hull, and son Robert Jankowski.

Friends and family will be received at Guenther Funeral Home, 1303 East State Street, Olean, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 11:00am to 1:00pm with a funeral service to follow at the funeral home. Chaplain Terry Bush will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
