Mary F. (Rucinski) Fenstermaker, loving sister and aunt

ELDRED, Pa. --- Mary F. (Rucinski) Fenstermaker passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.

Mary was born in Olean on May 3, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Sophia (Skrobacz) Rucinski. On August 3, 1983 she married Charles Fenstermaker.

She was a graduate of Olean High School and worked for Dresser Rand from where she retired. After retirement, she enjoyed her monthly lunches with her fellow coworkers.

Mary was a member of the Altar Society of St. Raphaels where she always participated in their candy sale, bake sale, and soup supper. She was also a member of the Pulaski Club Ladies Auxiliary. On Dingus Day she would arrive at the Pulaski Club at 7am to help Josephine Marcellin start the food preparation. Mary loved reading, playing cards (especially euchre), watching the Hallmark Channel, and attending the "Cousins Reunion" (where there had to be at least tree people on Birdie's and Frankie's porch). She loved to shop and was always on the lookout for a bargain. Mary and Charlie loved to travel and especially enjoyed their trips to Las Vegas.

She is survived by two sisters, Michele (Allen) Thach of Kailua HI and Karen Kowiak (Geoffrey Benway) of Fairport NY; two brothers, Michael (Lynne) Rucinski of Knoxville TN and Mark (Michelle) Rucinski of Louisville KY; five step-children Deborah, Lawrence, Charles "Art", Joseph and Donald; and nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Charles, her parents Sophia and Michael, and two sisters, Patricia Mooney and Audrey Burke.

The family will receive family and friends on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 9-10 am at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am. Burial will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choosing.

Mary's family would like to extend their thanks to the entire staff on the 3rd floor at Olean General Hospital for their kindness and compassion. A special thank you to her neighbor Linda Love for always being there for Mary.
