LIME LAKE - Donald Leo Kinnaird, age 85, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in Bradenton, Fla.
Don was born in Olean on March 26, 1940, the son of the late John and Gertrude Farrar Kinnaird. On Sept. 28, 1963, at the First Baptist Church in Olean, he married Charlene Johnson Kinnaird.
He graduated from Olean High School, Class of 1958, and later from Bryant & Stratton College with a degree in business and accounting. In 1962, he enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard, serving two years before transferring to the U.S. Army Reserve.
Don worked as director of retail accounting for Olean Wholesale Co-Op, fiscal officer with CEM Mental Health Program in Bradford, Pa., and owned Kinnaird's Accounting & Tax Service.
He was a member of the Olean Masonic Lodge 252, Past Worthy Patron Order of the Eastern Star Tyler Chapter 97, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Coudersport Consistory, Liberty Masonic Lodge 412 and Sahib Shrine of Florida.
Don loved his family, friends and music. He enjoyed working on and collecting antique and classic wooden boats and outboard motors. He served as a church organist for over 50 years at several houses of worship.
Don is survived by his children, Donald Kinnaird Jr. and David (Paige) Kinnaird; grandchildren, Ashlee, Connor and Jacey Kinnaird; nieces and nephews, Dawn Weber, Randall Kinnaird, Barbara Kinnaird and Shawn Johnson.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Charlene; his parents, John and Gertrude; his identical twin brother, Ronald (Doris) Kinnaird; parent-in-law, Chester (Gertrude) Johnson; and brother-in-law, Frederick (Sharley) Johnson.
A funeral service celebrating Don will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Guenther Funeral Home, 1303 E. State St., Olean. Burial will follow at the Allegany Cemetery with military honors.
