Allegany-- Thomas K. Faulkner, 71 of 1041 Two Mile Road, Olean, NY, passed away Tuesday (January 10, 2012) at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo from complications of lung surgery.

Born October 10, 1940 in Olean, he was the son of the late Gordon and Helen Shira Faulkner. On August 11, 1962 at the Transfiguration Church in Olean, he married the former Mary Ann Woodgie, daughter of Joseph and Gertrude Kwiatkowski- Woodgie.

Mr. Faulkner graduated from Olean High School, Class of 1958 and St. Bonaventure University in May of 1962, when he was hired by the Buffalo Marine Mid-land Bank. The family lived in the Buffalo area until moving to Eldred, PA in 1966, where he was employed for Eldred National Bank. He later moved back to Olean in 1970 and went to work for the former Exchange Bank of Olean, where he worked until his retirement in 2002. During his employment years at the bank, he attended Rutgers University and Cornell University to take courses relative to his banking interests.

He was a member of the Army National Guard from 1966-1972. He served on the Board of Education of the Allegany Central School System from 1975-1985. Mr. Faulkner was a member of the Pulaski Club, the Allegany American Legion and the Allegany Knights of Columbus Council 1220.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, their son Timothy (Robin) Faulkner of Woodstock, GA; a daughter Pamela (Chip) Malboeuf of Barboursvilla VA; five grandchildren Taylor and Michael Faulkner, Rachel, Michaela and Bryan Malboeuf; two brothers Phillip (Sue) Faulkner of Dallas TX, John (Pam) Faulkner of York, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son Michael Joseph Faulkner.

There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday (January 14, 2012) at 9:30am at the Transfiguration Oratory in Olean. Rev. James Vacco, OFM will officiate. Burial will be at the family plot at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean. Services for Thomas Faulkner There are no events scheduled.
