HORNELL - Donna M. Coddington Harshaw, 75, passed away early Monday morning (April 13, 2015) at her home on Hyland Drive.

Born in Olean on March 27, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Emilie Pyrkos Anastasia. In 1963 Donna was married to Keith Coddington, who predeceased her in 1978 after 15 years of marriage. She was married in 1978 to Dennis Harshaw, who predeceased her in 1998 after 20 years of marriage. Besides her parents and husbands, Donna was also predeceased by her sister, Sandra "Sandy" Wisniewski.

A graduate of Olean High School, Donna also graduated from St. James Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Hornell. From 1961 to 1973 she was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Bath V.A. Medical Center, also in Johnson City, Tenn. and Salisbury, N.C. A resident of Hornell since 1973, Donna owned and operated the former Coddington's Rest Home in Hornell from 1976 to 1988. Since April of 1998 she has been employed at the Lang Agency in Hornell as a Broker/Associate.

Donna was a member and vice-president of the Steuben-Allegany Board of Realtors, a member of the New York State and National Board of Realtors, a member and past president of the Hornell Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Hornell Women's Democratic Committee, a member of the Hornell Business and Professional Women, a former member of the United Way Board of Directors, and a former member of St. James Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. At one time she was active in the Hornell Babe Ruth and organized the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament.

She enjoyed trips to the casinos and especially loved to spend time with her family and attend her grandchildren's sporting events.

Her loving family includes her two sons, David (Stephanie) Coddington and Kirk Coddington (Heidi Stryker), all of Hornell; her stepson, Dennis (Jeannie) Harshaw II of LaCrosse, Wisc.; her stepdaughter, Haley Ann (Richard) Harshaw-Clement of Portland, Maine; her six grandchildren, Dominic and Easton Coddington, Erin and Ashley Stryker and Sophia and Gracie Harshaw; her brother, James (Connie) Anastasia of Baltimore, Md.; her sister, Joann (Thomas) McEntee of Spencerport; her brother-in-law, Edward Wisniewski of Syracuse; and her nieces, nephews and many friends, with a special thanks to Lisa Green-Preston and Brenda Buchanan.

The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Donna M. Coddington Harshaw.

Calling hours are 2-7 p.m., Wednesday (April 15, 2015) at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. Friends are invited to meet her family at St. Ann's Church in Hornell where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, in the Town of Fremont.
