Norma Jean Wilber, loving mother & grandmother

PORTVILLE - Norma Jean Wilber of Haskell Road passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo.

Norma Jean was born on August 5, 1939, in Olean and was the daughter of Earl J. and Charlotte Barton Button.

Norma Jean was a 1958 (sic)* graduate of Olean High School. She worked for the Castle Inn for a few years. She lived in Florida from 1981 to about 2004. While she was in Florida she worked at the Zephyr Have Nursing home. Norma Jean enjoyed gardening, baking, and going to Walmart with her sister.

Norma Jean is survived by her five children, Robin (Clair) Keyser of Portville, John (Michelle Hurd) Wilber of Portville, Linda Cochran of Fort McCoy, FL., Stephen E. (Terri) Wilber of Portville, and Jackie Wilber of Greeneville, TN., several grandchildren, including Jake Wilber and Jenna (Darrick) McCaffery, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including Mike Layfield.

Norma Jean was predeceased by her parents and four siblings, Harry Button, Ethel Layfield, Howard Button, and Wilber Button.
