CARLISLE, Pa. - Antoinette M. Salvo, a longtime former Olean resident, passed away Thursday (Feb. 16, 2023) at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle.

Born 14 Dec 1929 in Olean, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Domenica Sciotti Franzi. On Nov. 24, 1965, in Olean, she married Joseph C. Salvo, who predeceased her July 1, 2000.

Antoinette was a graduate of Olean High School and a longtime parishioner of St. John's Church in Olean. She had worked as a very compassionate and caring home health care aide for many years, retiring in 2005.

Her family was very important to her. She loved cooking and spending time with her family members, especially during the holidays. Antoinette was known to be a good listener. Oftentimes, the people who cared for her would share their personal stories and she offered them her motherly advice.

She loved traveling, especially visiting her children when they lived in Florida; Chicago, Ill.; Ann Arbor, Mich.; and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Nev. and Branson, Mo. In her later years, people always marveled at her ability to cope with her blindness.

(Donna) Stevenson of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Diane (Robert) Johnston of Mechanicsburg; daughter-in-law, Gail Stevenson of Jacksonville; four grandsons, Dave (Sara) Stevenson, Miles Stevenson, Seth and Bradley Johnston; two sisters, Grace (Joseph) Yatzkanic and Mary (Ronald) Mater; a brother, Anthony (Barbara Kiblin) Franzi; and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly

.

In addition to her loving husband of 35 years, she was predeceased by a son, Paul E. Stevenson in 2010.
