Left:  This is a picture of Allen Greene, born 1776/9 in Rhode Island, died 1859 and is buried in Sardinia, Erie Co. Married Mercy Putman, daughter of George Putman of the Dutch Putmans.

Right:  Allen Madison Greene, son of Allen Greene and Mercy Putman, born 1812 in Cazenovia, died 1900 in Franklinville. Settled in Ellicottville in 1826 with his father Allen Green. Foreman for the Erie Railroad. Married Julia Holden, daughter of Arnold Holden and Patience Tanner.

Left:  Here is one picture of a farm (belonging to Burnett J. Greene, 1861-1933) just outside of Franklinville, I believe on the road leading to Ellicottville.

Right:  Mercy Putman Greene, daughter of George Greene and Mary Polly Ferguson (of Mohawk Valley), born abt 1780, died 1872 in Franklinville, buried in Sardinia, Erie Co.. She married Allen Green(e) and settled in Ellicottville in 1826.

Left:  This is a picture of Postmaster Fay Perry Greene, Sr., in the Franklinville Post Office, 1916.Fay's great grandfather Allen Green(e) settled in Ellicottville in 1826.

Right:  This is a picture of the Riley and Wands Building, (tall building on the left), now the Olean Business Institute, taken in the early 1900s in Olean.  Riley and Wands were one of the largest wholesale grocers in Western New York.
