St. Patrick's Cemetery

Fr. George Zurcher secured the first land for a cemetery in the year 1880-1881. It originally was located on Church St. to the southeast side of the rectory next to St. Patricks Church itself. In 1884 Fr. Biden the next pastor exchanged this Cemetery site with the Limestone tannery for land at Paton Dr. and North St, which is it's present location today. The tannery employees helped to move the graves from the old Cemetery to the new one. This information was found in the reference book: A Guide to Burial Sites,Cemeteries and Random Stones in Cattaraugus County, New York by Marlynn McNallie Olson.

Below you will see some of the graves of the residents of New Ireland.
