This is part of a land deed that shows the transfer of 50 acres of land from Peter O'Laughlin to Michael. (Note- This is the first time we hear of there being a fourth brother.) Peter O'Laughlin obtained 37 1/2 acres of the property from a Peter Leery and his wife on January 9, 1865 and 12 1/2 acres from Micheal O'Laughlin on April 4, 1865. This deed also points out an unusual occurence. Michael O'Laughlin succsessfully sued Peter O'Laughlin in civil litigation. We do not know why Michael sued Peter.

This article was found in the Salamanca newspaper announcing the death of Michael O'Laughlin who had left New Ireland to follow the oil boom to the Oklahoma / Texas region of our country.
