Private Gerald J. Donigan of Co. I, 108th Infantry was killed in action September 29, according to a message from the War Department to his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. J.C. Donigan, of 513 North Sixth street.Private Donigan is survived by his parents; four brothers, Joseph, Albert, William and Edwin. Albert and William are now in service in France.
Private Donigan enlisted in Company I when it was mustered into service following the declaration of war against Germany. He was trained at Camp Wadsworth, Spartansburg, S.C. last winter. He went overseas in May.
Word of his death was received here some time ago in a letter from a member of the company. Confirmation came in the War Department's message.
