/ moved to Ashford, NY
Nathaniel was the son of Joab Holland who was was born January 9,
1758 in Shrewsbury, MA. Joab married Abigail Rice in Petersham,
December 30,
1779 and
they settled at Barre. Joab served in the Continental Army during the
Revolution
Joab was the son of Samuel Holland who was born on 9 July, 1721
in Marlborough, Massachusetts and died 24 April, 1764 in Shrewsbury.
According to the IGI
he married Sarah Hastings in Marlborough on 9 May, 1745. These dates
are from the IGI. Sarah later married Samuel Richardson of Newfane,
Vermont

Samuel was the son of John Holland and Elizabeth Park - John
Holland was born 7 or 9 April, 1674 and married Elizabeth Park
(youngest daughter of Thomas Park
and Abigail Dix of Newton, where John then lived). Mitchell says that
"he seems to have lived at Newton for some twenty years, the births of
children being recorded there from 1699
to 1716 and then to have removed to Marlborough, where the birth of a
son in 1721 is recorded." His wife died at Marlborough 19 December,
1723 at
44 years.
John Holland was the son of Nathaniel Holland (baptised 1638) and Sarah
Streeter (b. 1643), the daughter of Stephen Streeter and Ursula Adams.
Ursula Adams
was the only daughter of Henry Adams, the progenitor of the large Adams
family).
